21 And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and said, "Give thanks to the Lord, for his steadfast love endures forever.”22 And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed. II Chronicles 20:21-22.
King Jehoshaphat knew the power of offering prayers of praise and worship for victory in battles. What an awesome example! The instructions for praising our Great God and King are many in the Word of God. I especially love the Psalms where we find: O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever, Ps. 106:1 Or, I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, Ps. 9:1. And, O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever, Ps. 30:12. The list goes on and on with far too many instructions for praise and worship to list them all. Our God is worthy of our praise and He draws near the praises of His people! Psalms 22:3
Praising with you,
