After being introduced to Holly Ball, the director of finance and HR at Hope Center Indy, and hearing about Hope Center Indy’s mission, Megan Badger was immediately intrigued and interested in an internship.
“I was very excited about the possibility of working with strong believers who are making a positive difference in the lives of others, all while being able to learn about the practical, hands-on side of my field of study,” said Megan.
A student at Western Governors University, an online college based out of Utah, Megan is studying accounting and hopes to some day work at a small business that is dedicated to helping people.
Hope Center Indy’s finance internship has proven to be a great fit for Megan who has a strong passion for detail and organization – key skills when working with numbers.
“Megan has been a huge blessing in our finance office in the short time she’s been working as an intern,” said Holly. “She loves the Lord and she’s conscientious, considerate, and very attentive to the details of the work she is given.”
Megan notes that through the internship, she’s been able to gain practical workplace experience, including working with QuickBooks and Excel. She’s also taken part in professional development opportunities and built lasting relationships with her peers and the staff at Hope Center Indy.
“Interning in the finance department gave me the space to use all of the knowledge I learned in school, while seeing the hands-on side of how a nonprofit works,” said Megan. “This Internship gave me access to other departments as well, which encouraged me to keep my mind open about how versatile a future career can be.”
From finance, to security, to non-profit organization - interning at Hope Center Indy is impactful. Each member of the team is a valuable part of helping women overcome sex trafficking and addiction.
“As an intern at Hope Center Indy, I had the opportunity to learn and grow alongside an incredible team dedicated to making a transformation in the lives of women who have been victimized by sex trafficking,” Megan said. “It has been a pleasure to be a part of Hope Center Indy’s vision and to witness what God can and will do!”
