Community Invited to Support Survivors with Welcome Bags

In a new initiative to support survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and sexual trauma starting fresh chapters in their lives, the Take Heart Residential (THR) program at Hope Center Indy (HCI) is extending an open invitation to the community to participate in a meaningful welcoming gesture. Through a donation of $75, community members can sponsor a Welcome Bag, filled with essential and comforting items, for new residents entering the program.

Each Welcome Bag is thoughtfully prepared with items carefully chosen to provide comfort and a sense of dignity to survivors. The bags include brand-new pajamas and underwear, warm socks, a range of personal hygiene essentials, and two uplifting Take Heart t-shirts.

For those looking to personalize their contribution, THR offers an alternative. Community members can opt to personally assemble these Welcome Bags with the recommended items and deliver them to the Redefined Hope Boutique. Since the Welcome Bags are made of canvas, supporters can decorate the bags with encouraging messages, Bible verses, or artwork. This option allows contributors to physically participate in the process, enabling survivors to feel a personal connection and to know that the community is behind them every step of the way. For contributions made through monetary donations, residents in the long-term program at THR will hand-paint and decorate these bags. The THR team emphasizes the positive impact this project promises to have on the new residents, helping them to feel truly welcomed and supported as they navigate their way through these changes.
